Too Darn Hot

5:10 PM, the mercury is stuck at One Oh Three and it's
Too Darn Hot (Mel Torme does Cole Porter)

I'd like to sup with my baby tonight
fill the cup with my baby tonight
I'd like to sup with my baby tonight
fill the cup with my baby tonight
but I ain't up to my baby tonight
cause it's too darn hot
It's too darn hot
It's too darn hot

I'd like to coo with my baby tonight
and pitch the woo with my baby tonight
I'd like to coo with my baby tonight
and pitch the woo with my baby tonight
brother you fight my baby tonight
cause it's too darn hot
it's too darn hot

According to the Kinsey report
ev'ry average man you know
much prefers to play his favorite sport
when the temperature is low
but when the thermometer goes way up
and the weather is sizzling hot
Mister Pants, for romance, is not
cause it's too too
it's too darn hot, it's too darn hot
It's too too too too darn hot

Darn, it's hot.

You got that right.
I went swimming last night about 9 p.m. The water in my pool was well over 90 degrees. I had to get out of the water to cool off.

This sucks.

What the hell is she doing anyway, Portia? Fanning the flames or applying a man-attracting perfume?

or applying a man-attracting perfume

LOL. I gotta try that! A little dab of Eau du Hickory Pit here and there, and the ribs won't be the only things cookin'!

BYW, spd, I think she's cooling herself off:)

Hickory is okay, but here in Texas we like our chicks Mesquite smoked.

I guess it is kind of a regional preference.

Mesquite sucks like Anna Nicole Smith at an assisted living facility. I'd take Hickory, even Teryaki over mesquite any day. You Texans are so weird ;)

Indeed, Pile. Overshadowed only by what's on the menu:)

Hickory'll work fine for a quickie burger, but mesquite's the way to go when you're hankering for a well-aged cut, and nothing beats applewood when you're salivating for a rack of melt- in-your- mouth ribs. "Baby's got back" didn't rise to the top of the chart for nothin'

God, it's hot:)

Pooke, is that good or bad?
:)

Pooke, just what are you doing with this mesquite wood?

Portia, I don't think that girl in the picture needs any fruit wood.

Actually I gave up using mesquite, about five years after I learned I was allergic to it. Me not to quick.

Pooke, do not answer that question under any circumstances.. Throw the "ball" back into his court:.

So Mr.On, how is it that you first learned you were allergic to mesquite?

Out here in Arizona, we like our mesquite too.

BTW, what's this I hear about all them folks out East complainin that its 103 outside? We don't start to worry till the mercury explodes out of the thermometer!

It was 115-118 for about two weeks in July, but did you hear us all whinin like little crybabies? Heck no!

Personally, when it gets that hot I do a cannonball into my pool, and then blissfully float with a tropical drink in my hand and reggae or steel drum music on the stereo and picture myself in the islands, mon.

Sack up East-coast whimers!

AFE,

you suck.

I mean, you're not challenging Pile for the title or nothing, but... just sayin'.

I'm hoping we can put in a pool by spring next year.

Okay, sorry about that off-color Anna Nicole remark. I'll try to keep it clean. Now Camo, get your mind out of the gutter - it's getting crowded down here!

Pooke:
Sorry. But it is a rather provocative picture...

Well, Menace, I can't remember what part of the country you hail from, but there is a reason Arizona is know as the land of the backyard pool. Given our summer heat, its almost a necessity. Plus you can pretty much use it year-round (with a small heater attachment in January, or an adjacent hot tub).

If I remember correctly from the construction industry stats, pools are the single most common/popular add-ons in Arizona.

Memphis.

So not only is it rather warmish in the summer, it's muggy too.

At least in Atlanta it is a wet, sticky, sorta smelly heat. Not like that awful dry heat in Arizona.

Well, what exactly did you expect out of the 'hootch.
