For a long time I've been wanting to do a post on architecture. We look at houses a lot. Every Saturday morning my husband sits in his big leather chair and shows me at least one set of floor plans. The result of this joyous ritual is that the wife ends up getting mad for one reason or another.
Either I see (rarely) the house of my dreams and realize I will never have it, or (more frequently) am forced to look at some stupidly constructed monstrosity that makes absolutely no sense, where you walk into the enormous kitchen and the door opens towards you instead of away from you, blocking your path immediately. Why is there a door there at all? How often do you close the kitchen off from the front hall? Why not a pocket door if this is some desperate need? Sheesh.
Of course, the reason for the door becomes apparent when you realize the idiot architect has put the fridge right next to the main pathway with the door opening into the narrow aisle (also on the other side of the kitchen away from the sinks the cutting boards where the rest of the food will be prepared and all - has this man every cooked a meal in his life?).
And then there's the Master Bath, in which only 3% of architects seem to have sussed out how nice it would be to place the man's and woman's sinks APART from each other on OPPOSITE SIDES of the DAMNED ROOM and also how about putting the WC in its own little room so we separate out that little function from bathing, etc?
In a 700K home, I really do not think these "luxury" features are too much to ask. I don't want to be in a separate room. I just think it's nice, in an expensive house, to see a little thought put into the design. I'll probably never own a place like that but heck....it doesn't stop me from being critical.

Too subtle?
Or too stupid?
There's only one bathroom at "La Casa de Camo"...FWIW.

an especially popular tub is a custom molded one that allows couples to “comfortably sit facing each other without their legs bumping"
What good is that? I can do that at the dinner table.
