Damned Women

Giving credit where credit is due:
Portia tagged the source of the Plame Game leak months and months ago as being "Scooter" Libby. This news hurts, but only because Portia's damned Yankees took three of four from my beloved Red Sox. Otherwise, it's still not news.

BTW, how's that Social Security reform plan shaping up, Democrats? Coming anytime soon?

No comment but "yeah, I've heard that too...."

How are you doing with those bagels you owe me, sport?

Hand rolling them as I speak. :-)

Heh. I'd give up one of A-Rod's long balls to see that....

Back on topic, and further to my comment the other day that White House officials
may have been careless in their discussions with reporters, see this, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement, Standard Form 312, which requires that individuals who are given classified clearance, must sign an oath with Standard Form 312 which states that "Before...confirming the accuracy of what appears in the public source, the signer of...SF 312 must confirm through an authorized official that the information has, in fact, been declassified. If it has not...confirmation of its accuracy is also an unauthorized disclosure."

More gobbledygook to parse.

I realize the two of you are way smarter than I am. No doubt that accounts for my confusion.

I have read the linked article three times now and am still unable to figure out how Libby is "the leaker".

I await the application of the clue bat with great relish.

We're still working on the clue bat, Cass. By now I am so confused it wouldn't suprise me one bit if I turned out to be the leaker.

Me either, spd:)

I'm sorry Cass, I've already said enough....
More clue bats to follow.

I'm not in any hurry Portia. It doesn't really matter anyway.

I just wondered if I was missing something obvious. I didn't really follow the papers over the weekend.

I'll bet it turns out to be all of them, including the paperboy and the little old lady that fumbles for change in the express checkout line. In fact, the only person who for sure didn't know Ms. Plame was a CIA agent was me, and I'm not so sure about that either. And what the hell kind of a secret agent does all off her work in suburbia? Any nuclear weapons in suburbia (other than Mrs. Stumpky's habanero surprise)? What was she hiding behind the drapes in the local Applebees hoping to pick up some loose talk about how the "Atomics" kicked butt on the "Rockets" down at the YMCA soccer tourny? The whole thing's is a ploy to keep important issues off the front burner until after summer vacation is over.

I've been known to leak. But usually not in polite company. Leaking is fundamental. It's essential. I would like to leak to the press, but it would likely go over their heads.

If I ever have a son I will pass on my knowledge of leaking to him.
